Position Description:
Position purpose:

The Territory Operations Manager (TOM) schedules, manages and delivers operational training in pre-defined areas for salaried and hourly retail associates. The goal of the Territory Operations Managers is to increase operational performance in underperforming stores. The TOM will accomplish this by teaching and training in the aisles with associates or in a training room environment using a variety of tools provided to them including web based training, training on a mobile device, as well as webinars. The stores in which a TOM visit is required will be managed centrally at the Store Support Center. Each visit to outlier stores will occur over a 3-4 day period in which the TOM will facilitate detailed training designed to increase store performance. The Territory Operations Manager may be required to visit other stores in the region to engage with associates and identify best practices. Additionally, the TOM will occasionally be required to drive sales in stores by providing excellent customer service. TOMs will be assigned to a regional geography and will not be assigned to a particular store on a regularly basis. 

Key Accountabilities, Responsibilities and Tasks 

Operational Excellence 

Delivery of training and development curriculum for store associates in key operational areas such as Front End, Back End (Receiving and Freight), Tool Rental and Repair, Interconnected Retail including Selling Systems, In-Stock, Customer Service, Safety and Asset Protection 
Ability to evaluate operational processes and quickly identify positive and negative trends 
Remain current and well versed on operational processes and updates 
Ability to quickly adapt to change and implement new practices 
Anticipates impact of change; plans how to communicate change effectively and build support 

Train and Develop 
Effectively communicate and partner with Store Managers and District Managers on operational areas of improvement needed and next steps 
Plan, implement and conduct in-store training sessions including partnering with Store Manager prior to visit, outlining key areas to be trained and following up on next steps/actions taken 
Monitors course material for effectiveness, reviews feedback and provides recommendations to Store Support Center to improve 

Build Relationships 
Establish and build relationships with a wide range of associates locally, regionally, and nationally; maintain regular communication with associates via direct contact, email, conference calls or webinars 
Ability to speak and present to groups of associates speak interpersonally with individuals, report to management and interact with the Store Support Center 

Physical Job Requirements
Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, and moving merchandise to assist customers 
Moving around the store to assist customers and interactive with store associates 
Operating a computer 
Driving vehicles to stores and various locations with a provided geography on a regular basis 
Air Travel may be required 

Working Conditions 
Associates may encounter an uneven walking surface due to temporary cracks in the floor 
Associates may have exposure to dust, gas fumes emitted by power equipment, and noise 
Associates may be exposed to external weather conditions, drafts and interio
