Provide excellent patient and customer service in the selection, ordering and dispensing of eyewear. Complete pre-screening activities prior to patient exams. Prepare work orders for Optical Lab. Process medical billing information. Maintain frame inventory.

CUSTOMER SERVICE
\u0026middot; Provide excellent customer and patient service according to company and Optical Center standards
\u0026middot; Analyze patient eyewear needs
\u0026middot; Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings and frames to satisfy patient needs
\u0026middot; Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color. Ensure frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions
\u0026middot; Order and dispense eyewear accurately and professionally
\u0026middot; Assist patients with proper frame repairs and adjustments
\u0026middot; Show patients how to insert, remove and care for their contact lenses
\u0026middot; Assist Optometrist with case histories and screenings
BUSINESS AND OPERATIONAL STANDARDS
\u0026middot; Maintain a complete knowledge of third-party plans and claims
\u0026middot; Explain promotions and special lens offerings to patients and customers
\u0026middot; Balance accounts
\u0026middot; Prepare work orders containing specific instructions for Optical Lab
\u0026middot; Process medical billing information
\u0026middot; Ensure proper merchandising of frame inventory
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE \u0026 SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
\u0026middot; High School Graduate or equivalent
\u0026middot; Maintain license as required by state
\u0026middot; To become Certified, teammate must complete Shopko OCE Certification requirements and calendar modules
\u0026middot; Previous experience in an office and/or optical dispensing is preferred
\u0026middot; Able to handle multiple customer interactions/phone calls at a time
\u0026middot; Able to work with patient eyewear needs including analyzing prescriptions, repairs and adjustments and lifestyle dispensing
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS \u0026 WORK REQUIREMENTS:
\u0026middot; Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written and two-way verbal communication
\u0026middot; Able to read and write at a high school graduate level
\u0026middot; Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
\u0026middot; Able to operate various office equipment (e.g., personal computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, etc.)
\u0026middot; Ability to lift 10 to 20 pounds
\u0026middot; Ability to see (Near, Distance, Color, and Depth Perception)
\u0026middot; Manual and finger dexterity, as well as hand/arm steadiness
\u0026middot; Ability to grip and hold items

\u0026middot; Able to operate a cash register, various optical equipment and tools
\u0026middot; Able to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, and weekends) office hours to meet established deadlines
