Position Overview

The Home Depot Equipment Services (HDES) Training Manager is responsible for HDES Training Center of Excellence (TCoE) including, but not limited to reviewing, documenting, optimizing, and delivery of end-user training on business policy, processes, procedures, and related systems/technology. HDES TCoE was created to develop and enhance workforce effectiveness by innovating rapidly, removing complexity, and building dynamic curricula for skilled labor focused primarily on mechanical and light electrical skills.

This role also acts as SME and key business process owner overseeing process optimization, documentation, updating, and end-user training. This individual is responsible for designing and delivering effective Learning and Development programs for all levels of HDES associates in a confident, professional manner and in accordance with company values. This position will work closely with and provide support to the Equipment Services Analytics, Operations, and Field teams. This position will be required to provide documentation, project updates, training summaries, and reporting. The role reports directly to the HDES Director.

As a leader at The Home Depot, the Training Manager, who leads a team of three geographically dispersed Divisional Trainers, is responsible for creating an environment where associates want to work, and customers receive excellent service.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Effectively lead and engage team of Divisional Trainers to deliver on objectives aligned with business strategy.
  • Accountable for the delivery of capability training curriculum's from inception to completion, the identification of training needs, and the creation of programs to effectively resolve specific problems and leverage best practices
  • Keep abreast of new training trends and platforms; facilitation of course material, hands-on training, and skills assessment by Classroom, 1 on 1, on the Job site, remote, and e-learning
  • Administers related business process, policy, and procedure documentation and optimization
  • Oversees standardization, compliance, review, update, and communication of policies, process, and procedure documents
  • Ensure effective maintenance of training records, facilitate and schedule communications with Management and stakeholders
  • Supports business systems error correction, end-user support, and IT system testing and documentation
  • Provides reporting, project, or general business support as needed
  • Serves as departmental Subject Matter Expert on business processes and IT system functionality
  • Oversees content management through the creation, updating of training content, documents, videos, processes, and curriculum to ensure everyone is trained consistently and in adherence to safety, Company, OEM, and regulatory requirements
  • Other responsibilities as required
  • Approximately 20% overnight travel.

      Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

      Typically requires overnight travel less than 20% of the time.

      Under constant pressure to continuously meet tight deadlines, demanding quotas and/or must regularly deal with difficult situations.
