POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist the General Manager in the day to day operations of the store. Perform store functions including dispensing of eyewear, patient care, setting performance goals, and delivering financial performance. Under the direction of the General Manager, assist with hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of the store team. Lead team in General Manager's absence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

DRIVE BUSINESS

\u0026middot; Lead team to execute merchandise, operational and customer service strategies to deliver planned sales, gross margin and financial results

\u0026middot; Model service, patient care and selling techniques to maximize customer satisfaction and achieve business objectives

\u0026middot; Act with urgency to complete tasks and respond to patients and customers

\u0026middot; Drive optical initiatives through team by planning and scheduling appropriately

\u0026middot; Identify opportunities to grow business

\u0026middot; Develop business plans and follow up on actions to drive profitable sales

LEADERSHIP

\u0026middot; Assist with hiring, developing, training and managing teammate performance

\u0026middot; Assist with store scheduling

\u0026middot; Ensure store is compliant with all company HR policies and practices as well as federal and state laws and regulations

\u0026middot; Communicate effectively with team to ensure knowledge of company initiatives, processes and key teammate information

CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PATIENT CARE

\u0026middot; Provide and continuously model excellent customer service in all customer interactions

\u0026middot; Partner with General Manager to provide appropriate direction and feedback to the team related to customer service

\u0026middot; Dispense eyewear according to professional standards

\u0026middot; Partner with General Manager to perform key-carrier tasks including opening/closing the store, cash office, committing payroll and responding to alarm calls

CAREER PROGRESSION

\u0026middot; Act on feedback from General Manager and Regional/Market Manager toward continuous improvement and preparation for future General Manager openings

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE \u0026 SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

\u0026middot; ABO/Shopko OCE Certification required

\u0026middot; High School Graduate or equivalent

\u0026middot; Optician experience desired

\u0026middot; Supervisory experience with strong customer service focus (preferably in an optical store or retail setting)

\u0026middot; Able to analyze and solve issues of varied scope: able to act decisively to implement solutions

\u0026middot; Solid organizational and planning skills

\u0026middot; Able to continuously monitor progress in relation to goal attainment

\u0026middot; Able to analyze financial data, recognize opportunities for improvement and formulate plans to address.

\u0026middot; Able to set impactful goals and motivate team to deliver results

\u0026middot; Able to multi-task and remain flexible in an ever-changing environment

\u0026middot; Demonstrate commitment to provide great customer service

\u0026middot; Solid computer knowledge to include Microsoft Office Suite of programs

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS \u0026 WORK REQUIREMENTS:

\u0026middot; Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written and two-way verbal communication

\u0026middot; Able to read and write at a high school graduate level

\u0026middot; Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time

\u0026middot; Able to operate various office equipment (e.g., personal computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, etc.)

\u0026middot; Ability to lift 10 to 20 pounds

\u0026middot; Ability to see (Near, Distance, Color, and Depth Perception)

\u0026middot; Manual and finger dexterity, as well as hand/arm steadiness

\u0026middot; Ability to grip and hold items

\u0026middot; Good eye and hand coordination

\u0026middot; Demonstrate physical agility (bending, twisting, reaching and pulling)

\u0026middot; Able to operate a cash register, various optical equipment and tools

\u0026middot; Able to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, and weekends) office hours to meet established deadlines

\u0026middot; Able to travel independently to support Company objectives and personal development
