Job Description



The primary purpose of this position is to manage the spare parts inventory and the work order system in the Maintenance Department.  The prime focus is to optimize the inventory investment and minimize any inventory caused downtime in the production area. This will include negotiating contracts and agreements, working with Corporate Purchasing, implementing and maintaining compliance strategies within the purchasing area, and creating cost savings projects and initiatives.  The job will also focus on implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) with a focus on PM.  This will include managing the Work Order System, Equipment Histories and tracking and improving performance in the Maintenance and Production Departments.  The incumbent is required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.



The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • Oversee the coordination of purchases of all supplies, equipment, and services used by all departments to ensure lowest cost is obtained.
  • Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness, designate approved supplier (with support from corporate purchasing) and assign correct account information.
  • Facilitate team and functional meetings to drive decision making, information sharing and consensus building in support of an optimized spend.
  • Track inventory levels and movement throughout the Engineering department.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through monitoring and reporting effective cycle counts. Ensure corrective actions are taken if accuracy falls below acceptable threshold.  Cooperate with Engineering to monitor inventory stock levels and turns.
  • Ensure plant compliance with all Purchasing Policies and perform periodic audits of processes.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements for Plant for localized purchases.
  • Engage the plant with key, strategic suppliers to identify cost savings initiatives and projects.
  • Create purchase orders and control their issuance to ensure all of the proper policies and procedures are followed.
  • Create replenishment orders.
  • Sort inbound deliveries, verify the contents of delivery with purchase orders to ensure all items were received and examine parts for any defects before putting away.
  • Process vendor returns due to damaged parts.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with all suppliers.
  • Work closely Corporate Purchasing supporting company initiatives.
  • Research parts via internet.
  • Management Work Order System including work assignments and tracking.
  • Compile information for reports on excel spreadsheets (e.g. MTBF, MTTR, etc.).
  • Manage Engineer scheduling
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support all departments with any special projects.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards, procedures, and guidelines.

Education and/or Experience

Minimum 2 years finance, manufacturing, purchasing, or supply chain experience required.



                    The position requires the following:

  • Valid drivers license for business travel
